This list defines terms used in the database, intended to help users avoid misinterpreting terms and so maintain high quality data input.

Flux Number of particles passing through some defined unit zone per unit time cm2s-1
Fluence Time-integrated flux of photons or particles cm2
Dose Energy deposited in a given material, depends on absorption coefficient for the material Gray (Gy)=1 Joule kg-1
Non-ionizing dose Energy deposited in atomic displacements in crystal lattices Gray (Gy)
